It's my life - Bon Jovi - Guitar Cover

Hello everyone, this is Solid Snake and I'm back with something completely different. It's been a long time now, since I've started this blog and I still haven't shown you some video of me strumming.. have I? I think it's time to correct that..

After setting up my youtube channel which goes by the name of SnakedTube I added my first youtube video.. It's me covering the song "It's my life" by Bon Jovi, on my guitar. Well it was the first time I tried playing the song, and after figuring out what some proper chords would be, I started playing and recording it. It took me about 5-6 full recordings of the song to get the first complete one that somehow satisfied me and I decided to keep and publish it on my youtube channel. It went not excellent but well.

I most likely didn't use the exact chords that Bon Jovi do, but it sounds pretty nice like that. Think of it as my personal touch on the song. I hope you like it.

As for the equipment I've used, just like is included in the video description, it's my Gibson Les Paul Studio Worn Brown, on my Line 6 Spider IV 75W and it's captured on a Kodak Zi8 1080p @ 30 Fps. I hope you like it.

Feel free to comment but please keep it clean..
This is Solid Snake as the Lonesome Guitarist and I look forward to seeing you again!

Love And Madness

Hey there everyone.. it's been some time now since my last post.. but here I am, ready to post a new song of mine! Days are passing bye, time stands still sometimes giving me all the inspiration I need to write something..

So, while writing this song.. I had in mind the song "Bleed it out" by Linkin Park, I wanted to write something that sounds like it. One day I came up with the music, and another one when I was feeling inspired (and a bit angry yeah..), I added the lyrics. And really loved the result! I hope you'll like it too.

It's called "Love and Madness", two words that their meaning seems so identical that sometimes and it's hard to separate the one from the other. It's as if they become one in my head and so I decided to express it in this song. Maybe I'll record it and upload it somewhere, someday for you to actually listen to it. Here we go...

Love and Madness

(Solo)
Verse 1:
Now's the time, here we go
trying to sort the things we know
Love and madness are hard to go,
Can't control them once they grow

Even though you know the rules
The more you push the more it pulls
Plus the fact, you can't react
Once you fall there's no way back

Lose yourself, scream out loud
Kiss the pain and live in doubt
Race the time, cross the line
Love is just a legal crime

That's the truth, right or not
What you gave's not what you got
Face it now, write it down
Hide it deeply underground

Chorus 1:
Be like me, hold your breath
Try to win, give all your best
Put yourself, to the test
Then hit the ground just like the rest x2

Put yourself, to the test
Then hit the ground just like the rest x3

Verse 2:
Just you wait, I still have time
Time to waste, or write a rhyme
Make it worth, make it count
Throw them down, until I'm out

Once again, you make me feel
What I felt was never real
What I want now isn't clear
Wish I could just disappear

All my thoughts now, they do harm
Can't give up, I must fight back
Find my strength, bring it on
Push my limits even more

Sum it up, now we know
Love is madness, don't say no
Both they kill, burn you down
Make you look just like a clown

Chorus 2:
Prove me wrong, Push me back
Live your life, forget this track,
Put yourself, to the fight
Then hit the floor and fall behind x2

Put yourself to the fight
Then hit the floor and fall behind x3

(Solo)
Bridge End:
Yes, I know, I might be wrong, I know
Not cool at all, I know, I've gotta go, oh no.. Oh no..
You and me, we used to get along,
But now you ruined it all, there's no more space for hope

So go and live your life, just like you wish, don't fight
Just let them lead your way, you're the only one to blame
And I will walk my road, just like a star long gone
And I will fight again, my life will now begin!

(End)

That's it people! I did not add the chords for.. security purposes.. :-)
Thanks for reading it.. comment if you feel like and don't forget to check out on me every now and then, for new content.

Waiting for the end - Linkin Park

Hello everyone, it's been a little while since I posted here, so here you go...

Linkin Park have been my favorite band for more than 10 years now, their songs always touched me in a weird way, as I always got related with their lyrics..

Anyway, last night I was listening to Linkin Park's latest album up to date (March 1st, 2011) and found out there was something special about a specific song.. "Waiting for the end". So today, the first thing I did after getting out of bed was check out its lyrics.

Then I felt a lot of things I don't usually feel with songs.. It's been a long since a song talked so directly to me..

I wrote down all the lyrics added all the chords, and a while after, I started playing it on my guitar.. I know it can be found online but this is my version. I think it sounds pretty nice and my voice fits with it correctly, plus I love playing and singing it. So here it is for anyone who feels differently while listening at the melody and the strong lyrics of "Waiting for the end" from Linkin Park's latest album "A Thousand Suns".

Intro: E5 (Repeatedly for rhythm)
This is not the end, this is not the beginning
Just a voice like a riot, rocking every revision
But you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm
Though the words sound steady, something empty's with them

We say yeah, with fists flying up in the air
Like we're holding onto something that's invisible there
Cause we're living at the mercy of the pain and the fear
Until we're dead, forget it, let it all disappear..

Verse 1:
E
Waiting for the end to come
Asus2
Wishing I had strength to stand
C#m
This is not what I have planned
Asus2 Bsus2
It's out of my control

E
Flying at the speed of light
Asus2
Thoughts were spinning in my head
C#m
So many things were left unsaid
Asus2 Bsus2
It's hard to let you go

Bridge:
C#m Asus2
I know what it takes to move on
C#m Asus2
I know what it feels to lie

Chorus:
E Bsus2
All I wanna do is trade this life for something new
C#m Asus2 E
Holding on to what I haven't got

Verse 2:
E
Sitting in an empty room
Asus2
Trying to forget the past
C#m
This was never meant to last
Asus2 Bsus2
I wish it wasn't so

(Bridge)

Outro: E5 (Repeatedly for rhythm)
What was left when the fire was gone
I thought it felt right but that right was wrong
All caught up in the eye of the storm
And trying to figure out what it's like moving on

And I don't even know what kind of things I said
My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead
Picking up those pieces now where to begin
The hardest part of ending is starting again

(Chorus) E5 E5 C#m Bsus2

(Intro) E5 E5 C#m Bsus2

Feel free to comment if you can feel it..!

New Hardware Aquired

Hello again, this is Solid Snake and I'm back with some major music equipment upgrades..

For a long time until now I've been gazing upon famous guitarists' guitars, wishing I owned one of those, one day.. up until recently. I'd collected some budget, and researched everywhere.. online and offline. Then something caught my eye, my mind and my all and I realised that I could not compromise with anything else..

In a local shop I went to try an Epiphone Les Paul guitar and after telling me that he got out of stock, the sales man offered me a Gibson Les Paul Studio model... I got my hands on it and started playing and it was all I needed to fall in love with it.. Next day after not being able to forget what I felt.. I purchased it!

I love everything about this guitar, especially the playability and the deep sound of it. An incredible feeling. Here it is, check it out:

I hope you like it!
Personally I'm in love with it..!

Another fine upgrade after purchasing my Gibson Les Paul Studio is ordering the FBV Express Pedal MKII for my Line6 amplifier. Now I can switch through channels while playing, create and play loops, control the volume or wah wah levels etc. This is it:

Both of these upgrades will definitely help me upgrade my playing skill. The most important is that I enjoy it much more now!

Stay tuned for more stuff!
